Characters Portrayed
Shane Clarke/Red Wind Ranger
Ninja Storm | DinoThunder
Pua's acting career was non-existant before his small role on New Zealand's television soap opera "Shortland Street" in 1999 as "Elvis Iosefa." Afterwards, he got offers for commercials and other short roles, eventually leading to the major role of "Nurse Vinnie Kruise" on the same show in mid 2003.
Part of his acting streak included roles in the feature films "Crime Story" and "Aidiko Insane."
Pua has two brothers- one a famous director and the other an infamous New Zealand actor named Robbie Magasiva, Pua's inspiration for acting. He's also an athlete, a singer and a talented dancer.

He attended St. Patrick's College (as in high school) in Wellington.
In 2001, Pua played "Finau" in the movie "Eye of the Storm" aka "The Other Side of Heaven," also with Miriama Smith (Elsa of DT), who played "Lavania."
In the UK's television drama "Revelations," Pua played "Greg" in the episodes "the Initial Journey" and "Unfinished Business." Future NS and DT comrades Sally Martin and Tom Hern also appeared on the show.

(Ironically, Pua's future Power Ranger mentor would be a guinea pig, but this book is still from "Revelations.")

Pua also had an act in the Maori television drama "Aroha - Haka & Siva."
It was late 2002 that Pua landed the role of the heartthrob hit "Nurse Vinnie Kruise," his first major role in a series. Click here for an interview, and here for another one.

Though fans and castmembers often refer to him as eyecandy, Pua could never see himself that way. But he admits that his personality is simular to that of "Vinnie's."

In "Shortland Street," future NS and DT costars appeared such as Miriama Smith (Elsa), Katrina Devine (Marah, Cassidy Cornell), Greg Johnson (voice of General Trayf), Ian Hughes (Perry), and Katrina Browne (Kapri).
Also that year, Pua got the role of "Shane Stephens" (later changed to "Shane Clarke") in NS as the Red Wind Ranger.

Robbie Magasiva guest starred on NS as Shane's older brother "Porter Clarke." Only Jason David Frank has done with same with his brother, Eric Frank.
Pua was also interviewed in the Britsh special that spotlighted the Ninja Storm Rangers.

In the Herald Theatre in Auckland, NZ, Pua stars in the Mario Gaoa play "Two Days in a Dream."
