Act One
Chapter Four: A New Journey
Leo, Damon and Kai saw a horrific truth just beyond the forest by the stone. The final electrical discharges of the tornado were fading, but the irrefutable damage it caused was too much for words. The colony was destroyed. What took five years to build was shredded in this afternoon. The Command Tower had crumbled. The plant life built into the remains of the City Dome was crushed and dead. The statues, buildings and every attempt to merge the Earthen and Mirinoian cultures had been eradicated. And in the midst of the chaos was a little girl crying over her father’s body. Sparks were still flying all around her.

Leo ran towards her, storming through blankets of glass, blood and shop debris to reach her. And when he finally did, he looked at the girl. Jody Stanton. It was what he feared. There was one person she loved in all of Terra Venture, her father…his commander.

As Jodie sulked silently, the Red Ranger tossed his saber to the side and cupped his hand under the commander’s head. The face was unrecognizable. He stayed there with Jodie as minor explosions continued around him. Hexuba’s tall shadow lurked over him.

She spoke in a low silky tone. “Your time here has ended, Red Ranger. A new journey lies ahead for you and your friends.”

Heavy breathes poured from the Ranger as he laid Stanton’s head back to the ground. He removed his helmet and set it beside his knee. Leo stood to his feet slowly. Snappily, he turned and squeezed Hexuba’s throat; his arm shook with power. “You did this to him,” he murmured. “You summoned the powers of the underworld to poison the sabers and us.” His tone then rose dramatically. “You did this!

Damon and Kai, forgetting Anatari, began stepping towards their leader.

Jinxer materialized two marble black demon cards in his gloved hand. He flung them and a corner from both cards stabbed the Green and Blue Rangers in their backs. Before the Rangers could even fall to the ground, Jinxer performed a prayer with quick hand gestures and dark energy bolts shot from the cards, electrifying the battlesuits.

“Red Ranger, if you are to take out your anger on someone then do it at the source! I mean to get justice for my master whom that Anatari betrayed. After he broke from the Alliance, and Lothor was destroyed, Anatari started academies that followed his rebellious teachings. Some became masters of the Morphin Grid itself and the very new generations of Rangers were born. The Alliance was to bring unity to the universe, but with it split, powerful beings went after the Rangers to re-balance the fabric of the universe. So you see, the monsters you fight today are the result of an ancient war started by Anatari. The cism he started from that point on has put the balance of the universe at great risk. I am not the demonic creature you make me out to be. Once I bring back Lothor in his truest form, the balance will be finally restored after three thousand years.”

“You’re insane. But for what it’s worth, Hexuba,” added Leo, keeping his voice low, “…you make a fine storyteller.”

For what it’s worth, your powers will be what resets the balance. It’s time to pay a little visit to planet Rashon.”

A deep whistling spiraled towards Leo. A black card streaked passed Hexuba’s head. A loud yell echoed from Leo.
