It was the end of an era and the start of a new mission- save Zordon from the clutches of Dark Spector and his minions, and let nothing stand in their way. On their journey, the defeated Rangers encountered a ship. A Megaship.

Zedd, Mondo, Rita, Vile, Divatox and all that was evil gathered on the Cimarian Planet to toast Zordon's capture. The mentor's energy was slowly being drained, which was hoped to extinguish his power forever. Though one among them was a spy- a Red Ranger named Andros.

Fighting off Zedd to flee for his life, Andros made his way back to the Astro Megaship. There, he encountered the ex-Turbo Rangers.

Finally realizing they were not his enemies, Andros realized that these Earthbound Rangers could be useful in his quest to save Zordon. Andros equipped them with Astro Morphers to launch them as the newly powered Space Rangers. With Divatox and Rita fueding over who would go after the Rangers, Dark Spector chose Astronema for the task.

The new team followed every lead they could to discover where Dark Spector had hidden Zordon, but Andros had a personal mission of his own. He was on the hunt for Karone, his sister who had been abducted as a child by a dark force. His every breath was in dedication to saving the two people whom he owed the world to.

Forces from the past had their voices heard. The Phantom Ranger leaded his had, providing the Rangers with the Delta Megazord, which was to combine with the Astro Megaship. Divatox helped make sure any attempt of finding Zordon was thwarted.

A revelation. A bounter hunter named Darkonda slithered his way into Astronema's ranks, gaining her trust. His intentions were soon all too clear as nearly dismantled her forces via sabatage. More than that, he was revealed as Karone's abductor.

Fueled with new hope that his sister might be alive, Andros passionately fought off against Darkonda on the monster planet of Onyx, leading to a confrontation with the Astro-Delta Megazord. Darkonda had grown wild with power, and his outmatched the mighty Zords.

Andros had won Zordon's Key Cards on Onyx prior to the fight. With them, he gained access to a secret Zord bay on one of Jupiter's moons. The Mega Voyager was the power arsenal needed to destroy Darkonda. Little did the Rangers know that Darkonda had nine lives in his possession.

Surviving the ordeal, Astronema and her crew continued their quest against the Rangers. Though the vixen was hiding a dark secret of her own.

During a freak attack on the Megaship, a secret chamber within was discovered by the Rangers. Inside was a cryogenic tube encasing somebody who was barely alive. Andros revealed him as Zhane, the Silver Ranger. Zhane had fallen in battle two years ago when Dark Spector invaded their home planet of KO-35. This tube was the only thing that saved his life.

The crash caused him to flatline. But it wasn't enough to keep the known universe's most powerful Ranger down. The Silver Ranger fought back and rose to his rank. Armed with the passion of his people, Zhane become one of evil's greatest threats.

The stakes rose to a unforeseen degree at the gargantuan discovery that Astronema was Andros' long lost sister, Karone, who was turned to evil by Dark Spector. When she learned this, Astronema abandoned her evil ways. But Darkonda captured her and implanted circuitry into her mind, permenantly keeping her evil. However, the process worked too well. Astronema now meant to rid the universe of both the Rangers and Dark Spector. She even syphoned Dark Spector's lifeforce to create the Psycho Rangers- one of the most formidable teams of evil ever created.

Zordon's time was ticking. But in their fight against Dark Spector's forces, the Rangers got aid from two famillar faces. Adam was able to reignite his Black Ranger powers for one final morph, and Justin used a backup copy of his powers. The Black Morphin Ranger and Blue Turbo Ranger lived up to their legacies, even if for only one fight.

But allies would be vital in the end. Dark Spector knew the time had come to unite all his forces to finally take over the universe. Lead by Astronema, planets were conquered in no time by the likes of Lord Zedd, Rita and Divatox. Blue Senturion, ally to the Turbo Rangers, teamed with the Gold Ranger. The Aquition Rangers and the Phantom Ranger tried holding their own. None were successful.

The Space Rangers went against the dark armies on Earth as Andros infiltrated Astronema's base. There, he found Zordon.

A showdown ensued between brother and sister. However, a surge of energy from Astronema was accidentally deflected back, killing her on sight. Andros' journey had come to a very bitter sweet end.

But the universe was still crawling with dominating evil forces. Zordon knew of only one way to stop them. Andros had to shatter Zordon's energy tube. Though Zordon would be destroyed, his life force energy would purge the universe. Reluctantly, Andros knew he had no choice. With the slash of a saber, Zordon was gone. His power scoured space and disintegrated all evil it touched. Zedd, Rita and Divatox were purified of their evil souls and returned to their original human bodies.

Good had triumphed, but not without its casualties. Andros carried his sister's body onto Earth's ground and hunched near her presence. His life had been in dedication to saving hers. Their bond could not have been shattered by anything. It was that love which breathed new life into her. Astronema was gone, and in her place was Karone at last.
