One day Earth was its normal fast-paced digital watch world. The next, two unsuspecting astronauts discovered a sealed dumpster on the moon. In it- modern days' first glance of intergalactic evil in the name of Rita Repulsa. For her freedom, Rita rewarded herself by claiming Earth as her own.

But in the deserts of California hid the Command Center; housing Rita's arch-nemesis Zordon, who had imprisoned her on the moon ages ago. Zordon, trapped in a time warp by Rita, determined that the time was right for five everyday, yet extraordinary, teenagers to endow the powers needed to combat Rita's onslaught. Hesitant at first, it didn't take long for the chosen ones to realize the reality of the danger. Using the powers Zordon bestowed, Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini and Kimberly transformed into the Power Rangers for the first of many times.

Learning how to manage new weapons and abilities, the Rangers also had to maintain a normal life in High School to conceal their superhero identities.

It wasn't long before Rita learned to match power with power. She summoned the sixth Power Coin and bewitched the new kid, Tommy. With the power of the coin, Tommy launched himself as the legendary Green Ranger. He proved himself one the most dangerous advisaries to ever face a Ranger.

When Jason was finally able to break the spell, Tommy then had a choice as to what his powers would be used for. From that moment on, Rita had six Rangers to contend with.

Through these first few chapters of their superhero lives, the Rangers had to overcome personal fears and petty egos in order to utilize their powers to the fullest as Rita invaded Earth with monsters of endless variety. With the aid of their Dinozords, massive transforming machines under the guise of dinosaurs, the Rangers learned that teamwork and self-sacrifice were of the ultimate virtues.
