As the chaos on Earth had begun to simmer, there was strife brewing on another. Far away on the jungle planet of Liaria, a creature-like wizard named Lerigot was hunted for possession of a golden key. His pursuer- a galactic pirate known as Divatox.

Divatox eventually succeeded and used the key to cross into the water-portal called the Nemesis Triangle in order to free the volcanic demon Maligore.

In order for the Rangers to reach Divatox in time to stop her, they had to retire the Zeo powers and embrace a much faster technology- that of Turbo. However, Rocky was out from a back injury. Taking the helm of his powers was young Justin.

To speed across the planet and through the oceans, and to rescue Divatox' captives, Kimberly and Jason, the Rangers developed their new Turbo Morphers and keys. The Turbo Rangers set out.

Using their Keys to cross the Triangle, the Rangers' journey was not without peril. But they finally reached the island of Murianthias and discovered Maligore's chamber. Divatox' forces were ready.

Fueled by the purity and strength of Jason and Kimberly's bodies, Maligore was unleashed. And the ex-Rangers had become his demonic children.

Lerigot managed to free the Kim and Jason of the spell, but Maligore was out of control. This pyro-fanatic was only brought down by the full power of the Turbo Megazord.

This defeat would not go unjustified. Divatox swore revenge on the Rangers and reset her sights on Angel Grove.

Before Lerigot returned home, he offered Zordon his freedom from his timewarp. Together with Alpha, Zordon left for his home planet of Eltar.

But the Rangers would not be left unguided. In Zordon's place was Dimitria, a wise sage who made her pupils look within to find their answers.

With various monsters, Divatox planted numerous bombs around the city. But the veteran Rangers were quick to diffuse them and Divatox' threats. Except for one.

In an act of desperation, Divatox managed to capture Tommy by destroying his truck. He was then tied up and poised to fall into the Vortex of Eternal Sorrow and Doom.

With the Rangers falling apart, saving the day was to be done by two unlikely heroes passing through Angel Grove. TJ and Cassie's newly formed friendship was about to be put to the ultimate test.

The duo found Kat and followed vital clues in order to save Tommy.

Meanwhile, a momentous event was stirring. Saving Tommy and stopping Divatox' latest threat would be the final mission for Kat, Adam, Rocky and Tanya. Though without their leader, the four battled bravely one more time.

Due to TJ's stubborness to help, he and Cassie found and rescueed Tommy from the vortex. Just in time, Tommy rejoined his team for the last time as a Turbo Ranger.

After the victory, it was time for the four veteran Rangers to choose their successors so that they could venture out and see what else the world had to offer. TJ and Cassie were honored to take over, as was Carlos and Ashley, who had helped the Rangers in times of crisis. Along with Justin, the new Turbo Ranger team set out to finish the job with Divatox.

But the lady pirate was far from through. When the mysterious Phantom Ranger began to aid the Rangers with new Zords, Divatox enlisted the aid of her brother, General Havoc. Havoc brought with him an astral base for his sister, and the promised mechanized giant- Metallasaurus, powered by the Phantom Ranger's stolen Power Ruby.

The young team quickly learned the virtues of never giving up hope and keeping the spirit of the team alive. They truimphed over two versions of the evil machine and sent the General packing in shame.

As the tides continued to turn, one final twist decided the fate of this war. Elgar and Rygog, Divatox' henchmen, discovered the location of the Power Chamber. With this, Divatox was quick to launch a full scale invasion.

It looked like the final chapter as the Turbo Rangers battled for their lives to save the Power Chamber. Fighting hundreds of Piranhatrons, the Rangers were forced into retreat. But not even the security of the Chamber was enough. The evil forces blasted through and began tearing it all apart. Implosion devices were planted, and Divatox was more than trigger-happy. With one push, the Power Chamber blew into a million pieces with the Rangers inside.

Victory. Divatox had done what not even Rita, Zedd and Mondo could do- completely annihilate the Power Rangers.

But before the celebration could ensue, a messenger came to Divatox. A message from Dark Spector, Grand Monarch of all evil, demanded her presence on the Cimmarian Planet. Not daring to question his command, Divatox hesitantly forsaked her Earthen prize and left the planet.

The Rangers dug themselves out of the ruins of their base. Their powers had been destroyed, and they had just gotten word that Zordon's home planet of Eltar was under attack. If they were to stop Divatox now, they'd have to go after her.

Justin gained access to the Nasada Spaceport and warned the Commander of Eltar's trouble. The Commander immediately knew what to do. The space shuttle was now at the Rangers' disposal, and it gave them means to try intercepting Divatox. However, Justin knew his dad needed him more. He stayed behind on Earth as the other four Rangers blasted off into unknown dangers.
