It was over. Lord Zedd and Rita had succeeded in annihilating the homebase of the Rangers, and nothing was in their way of global conquest.

With little warning, however, Zedd found his castle under a full scale attack. It wasn't Zordon's Rangers, but rather a force galactically known as a race who dominated most corners of the galaxies. The Machine Empire had arrived.

Standing no chance against their power, Zedd and Rita were forced to flee the ruins of their stronghold and to the M-51 Galaxy safe from the Empire's reach. Now Earth was in the sights of its undisputed leader, King Mondo.

Meanwhile, the former Morphin Rangers, now their normal ages, scavanged the debris of the Command Center hoping to find something left. Their first discovery- the Zeo Crystal. It had been dropped by Goldar during the implosion. The Crystal opened a gateway for the Rangers to follow in. Its destination- an underground level of their base, the Power Chamber. There they found Zordon and Alpha safe and secure.

But with the Machine Empire poised for the attack, the Rangers had to be recommissioned. The Zeo Crystal reignited the team with dual wrist morphers and a brand new artillary equipped to face any machine encountered.

King Mondo was delighted at a challenge. He had conquered most sectors in the universe, and the thought of real competition fueled his monarch spirit.

As the battles escalated between Ranger and machine, so did Mondo's greed for power. His machines grew more powerful by the week, and the Zeo Rangers were pushed to every limit.

The mysterious arrival of Trey the Gold Ranger tipped the balance in the Rangers' favor. But for the Golden Powers to remain on Earth, they had to be passed on to an old friend. Jason returned to the team as the new Gold Ranger.

More new faces from the past appeared. On the moon, Lord Zedd and Rita were back in the game plotting their revenege against the Machine Empire. The odds were definately not stacked in the Rangers' favor.

King Mondo inevitably resorted to using the Damocles Sword; a weapon so intense with power that it nearly destroyed him long ago. In a battle against the Rangers, history repeated itself as Mondo was left disassembled.

A new contender rose to the machine throne in the name of Louie Kaboom. But thanks to Zedd and Rita, Kaboom soon met his fate against the Zeo Zords.

Prince Gaskett, Mondo's eldest son, took his turn to become the next Machine King. His marriage to Archerina had banned him from the Empire, but his quest to rule the empire made him a vital threat against Zordon.

Though Jason was a valiant fighter, the Gold Ranger powers were straining his physical body. The time was ticking for Trey to heal himself so that he could reclaim the powers for himself.

Finally, it all came to a boiling point. King Mondo had put himself back to together and reclaimed the Empire, forcing Gaskett to flee. Trey was able to reclaim his powers in time for the final battle against the Machine Empire. King Mondo and his crew grew themselves to giant size. And with the Gold Ranger powers, the Zeo Rangers were able to do the same. Together, the Rangers became the first to force the Empire into retreat.

Zedd and Rita decieved the exhausted King with a gift. Inside, a bomb that put the entire Empire out of commision.
